"The father of contemporary a cappella," (Entertainment Weekly), Deke is an arranger (Broadway’s “In Transit”), movie director (Pitch Perfect 1, 2 & 3), and television producer "The Sing Off" (US, Holland, China, South Africa), directing BBC’s “Pitch Battle”, directing professional groups (Vocalosity), performing (TotalVocal at Carnegie Hall), coaching (Lifetime’s “Pitch Slapped”) producing albums (Straight No Chaser) and events (Camp A Cappella), publishing arrangements with Hal Leonard, while teaching and promoting a cappella worldwide.

Nathan Hunnicutt, Founder

Nathan Hunnicutt is the founder of the A Cappella Music Awards. His love for the a cappella art form community began at an early age when he began to sing. He has served as a member of multiple collegiate groups and one professional group.  Hunnicutt says, "We're happy to bring the 2020 event back to one of the best music cities on the planet, and specifically to Lipscomb University."

Tim Foust, a member of Home Free, cohosted the highly anticipated inaugural red carpet event. Tim says, “It has been a thrill to see a cappella music go from underground to mainstream over the last couple of decades, and it continues to be an honor to be a part of it. I look forward to helping shine an even broader and brighter spotlight on this amazing artform.”

Melissa Lancaster, past Cohost

Melissa Lancaster is an award winning audio engineer and recording veteran, and owner of Nashville based Durant Studios. Melissa said, “Having grown up in the a cappella music world, it’s always a thrill for me to hear new groups perform. I am so pumped to host this award show and I can’t wait to see all of the talent this special night will bring.”
